Finding it challenging to train without a goal in mind? With a dearth of races on the calendar due to the coronavirus epidemic, virtual races are an amusing way to hold motivation up. A “Virtual run” is a self-motivated race that can be run anywhere/anytime at your own pace! The virtual running events mostly happen for 3K, 5K, 8K & 10K race categories while the virtual cycling events are for custom distances, mostly like daily challenges for a few days.
What is a Virtual Race?
A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you desire. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill at the gym or the track (or even at another race). You get to run your race, at your own pace, and time it yourself.
Running or walking these virtual races on your own, or with friends! And your medal will be shipped directly to you.
There are no parking concerns. No gatherings. There is no start gun or nervousness, pre-race chit chat with other runners.
That’s the kind of flexibility offered by virtual races, a unique sensation in the running community. Runners who sign up for a virtual race register online and choose their starting line, whether it’s a treadmill or a neighborhood street. They run the race distance, upload their finishing time and a few days later are mailed a medal.
It may seem unconventional to conventional runners, but race organizers say the virtual race is a great option for those who want convenience.

Vimazi Track Club has just completed hosting the first ever Sasquatch 8k virtual foot race. (Big) foot race! Compete against runners from around the world, sort results by age, gender, personal avatar, and country. Free registration and a free “photo” of your avatar crossing the finish line was given to the runners.

Running has never been so much fun before.
In such races it feels like runners are rebels, individuals, unconventional thinkers, and folks who march to the bear of their own drum, king of like our friend Sasquatch. So to Vimazi, Sasquatch is the perfect mascot for their company for one of their virtual race events.
Runners ran strong, ran for fun, ran for a medal, or ran in a costume. At Sasquatch Racing, runners had freedom to run in their own way, or as they like to think of it, “run like a Sasquatch.”

The Sasquatch 8K is a virtual race from the Vimazi Track Club that has been amazing fun. Sasquatch is a fun loving, free-wheeling creature who enjoys loping around on trails in the woods (or occasionally on the road) and who marches to the beat of a different drummer.
Sasquatch has become entrenched in popular culture. Sasquatch is in beef jerky ads, movies, beer commercials, and on trucker hats and t-shirts. There’s even a Sasquatch music festival. Exactly what Sasquatch represents is open to interpretation.
